I'm getting ready to order a mac pro to use with Pro Tools 10 and was looking for some input before pulling the trigger.
Here are the specs from the order:
Macbook Pro 15in
Processor Choice:
2.3GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 512MB GDDR5 memory
Memory:
8GB (2x4GB) $59 ($59.00)
Hard Drive:
750GB Serial ATA Drive 7200rpm (WD Scorpio Black) $75 ($75.00)
Optical Bay:
750GB Serial ATA Drive 7200rpm (WD Scorpio Black) $200 ($200.00)
Software:
None
Apple Care:
None
Does this look sufficient to run Pro Tools without issue? Is there a large enough benefit to SSD drives vs. ATA? Is it really worth the extra $200 to upgrade the processor to the 2.6 GHz, 1 Gb of memory?
