I am transitioning from Goldwave to Pro Tools (humungous difference).
Something I'm used to in Goldwave is that I always get to see the resulting waveform. No matter what edit, mix, filter, etc, the program renders it then and there (the same as when you "render" your Audiosuite plugins, you see the change in the waveform).
In particular, I am very used to copying one waveform and mixing it into another, and thereby seeing the resulting waveform (Goldwave is not a multitrack editor; you can work with mono or stereo files only). Is it possible to do this in Pro Tools? The only way I know how to mix is to create multiple tracks, and blend their levels via the mix window. But this doesn't show me the resulting waveform, unless I bounce it and re-import. Seems like a huge hassle compared to what a $59 program could do with ease.
