3rd Party Hardware and 5.1 monitoring

I will soon upgrade to a new Mac Pro with PTHD 11.



Are there any issues using PTHD 11 with a 3rd party interface (UAD Apollo) and mixing/monitoring 5.1? Or, must I use a Digi interface?



I've seen confusing info on this… thanks for any guidance.
