Ok, I'm getting this on two systems...
HD11.1.2 on 10.9.2 on 5,1's with 32GB RAM, HD I/O 16x16's, and 192's
Bounces are actually a lower level than the source material
For instance - I can have a drum bus with a hardware insert on it, get drums where I want
Now I can print that through the bus into another track
(Bus out to hardware, then back in from that hardware onto a new stereo track)
The print is more than 3db lower than the bus with the same hardware inserted. (same inputs and outputs used on the HD I/O, ruling out channel trims)
Also, Yesterday I bounced some edited vocals, with no plugins inserted, mono, reimported - waaaay lower level, nearly 6db (I know in this case, I could have just consolidated audio, but wanted to double check)
Also, bouncing an entire mix through the master, importing it back into session, then soloing it compared to the session, again, is quieter
Is anyone seeing this? Know a solution?
