Upgraded to Mavericks...UUUGH

Hi Everyone,

I have a huge problem. I upgraded my Mac to OSX 10.9.4 Mavericks. I had no idea my Pro Tools (8LE) would not be compatible. I saw all the warnings from AVID after I upgraded. I'm looking into upgrading to Pro Tools 11 , since it works with Mavericks and it's probably time for the change anyway. However, here's my problem...I can't uninstall Pro Tool8. The uninstaller for anything under version 10 won't work on Mavericks. I'll start the uninstall process...then it just quits. I read online that I can do a manual uninstall...which I guess might work. But, does anyone know if I can just get pro tools 11 and install it without removing 8? I read their may be some performance issues. I also read this on production trends.com " Co-installing Pro Tools 11 with Pro Tools 10.3.6 or higher has known reliability issues. Anything below 10.3.6 and 11.1.1 is fine."

I just wanna get you guys opinion before I shell out the 700 bucks for 11 ...and can't install it. I appreciate any help, advice , opinions you all can offer. Thanks!
