Hello,
I'm a licensed owner of Pro Tools 8 MP, but switched to another DAW a few years back. I still own the PT software and iLok, but sold the M-Audio PCI interface I used.
I *love* the new DAW and honestly only miss one thing about Pro Tools -- the DB-33 plug-in. I have an extensive virtual instruments collection with stellar drums, bass, pianos, synths, but the only B3 I have is the uninspiring instrument in the Kontakt 5 factory library.
I've looked on Craigslist and eBay for an inexpensive PT9 or 10, but none are to be found any longer. I've also held out hope that one day Avid would release one last build of PT8 that relaxes the hardware requirement a la newer versions. That doesn't seem to be forthcoming, nor does an RTAS to VST adapter.
Am I just SOL? I know that for a hundred bucks or so I could purchase NI Vintage Organs or GSI VB-3, but I was hoping for a cheap out, since I already own a great B3 emulation.
Thanks,
Steve
