Same old,same old!

I'm back for the second time today. After upgrading drivers for Windows 7,32 bit my keyboard will now communicate with ezdrummer2 but the sound while recording drum parts is intermittent and sounds scratchy! The good news is it isn't showing up on the recorded track. But! I'm still getting DAE errors and popups saying problems with everything from internal clock problems to "Can't keep up with", etc. I am constantly going back and forth between the session and Preferrences or Hardware and changing buffer settings, etc.! Strange thing is, if I just click ok on the popup, I can go ahead and continue recording! Question: Where do I gain access to the clock settings? A lot of the warnings have to do with that. I am using the Focusrite 2i4 and more and more I'm thinking that most, if not all of the problems I'm having are incompatibility with this interface! I recently updated the 2i4 drivers which, according to Focusrite, solved some of these compatibility issues but not with my own situation! Should I be using ASIO for all?
