PT11 not launching. Access Privileges problem

So I finally though I would make the jump from 10 to 11 and am running into some problems. Or one problem. I installed the latest version of 11 and when I go to launch it I'm greeted with "You do not have appropriate access privileges (1)". I've done the usual preference trashing and permission fixing but that doesn't seem to have done anything. I've also tried to be sure I have Read/Write permissions on everything as well. PT10.3.9 is working fine.

I've seen other posts about the (-5000) error but not the (1) version. So not sure what the difference is.

I'm on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.8.5

  1. this solved it for me.
Thanks for the reply, Chief Technician. I checked the permissions and they were read/write for all the available users (cwhite (me.. admin user), system, admin, and everyone). Still wasn't getting past the DB initialize. So, I discovered the Workspace.wksp file in /Users/shared/Pro Tools/. I moved that out to the desktop, launched PT11, and bingo. It opened.
