A producer friend of mine is desperately looking for a sound recorder / boom operator for a short film (shooting days: this Tuesday afternoon / evening and next Sunday, 10/19). I warned her about planning ahead and locking in a good sound guy, well in advance, but somehow that didn't work out.
Question: does anyone know a good sound recordist in the SF Bay Area who might be available this Tuesday (10/14), and what are the current going rates? This has little if anything to do with post production or pro tools but I don't where else to ask.
I might be able to help her out next Sunday (just got new mike and the whole lot) but this upcoming week I'm completely swamped by my day job. It should be pretty straightforward, one or maybe two indoor shooting locations.
Not sure whether she's properly budgeted for this, but let's take this one step at a time.
