Over 5 hours of frustration just trying to download pro tools 11. I have a crossgrade card with the activation code on it but have run into a dozen or more dead ends and links that don't function on the Avid site. Changed all my passwords twice.
After about 3 hrs of this, I finally got a screen that asks for the code which I type in (yes!) and click the download button. The 90th popup of the night asks for my Ilok user ID and Pro Tools hardware serial#....... Don't have any hardware, didn't buy any hardware, was informed by salesman that I didn't need any Pro tools hardware. Could not work around this screen.
I have never experienced anything like this hassle in all my years of dealing with digital audio production.
How can I make this work? I'm tired of dead ends after hours of trying workarounds just to get the links to work. If I had spent $700 I would be out of my mind.
What really pisses me off is that Avid says they want it registered and activated by the 31st to get the extra support time. That's tomorrow unless I calculated wrong. If I lose my support (support this, I have nothing to support) or am denied activation because I'm too late and they want me to pay more to activate, I will be contacting the Washington Attorney General's Office.
Using my brand new MBP i7, 2.6, 16G but don't think the comp is the problem.
