Well I did it again. After have the "i can't playback anything unless its my built in display speaker i was excited to see that my issue might be resolved. Huuuuum Still the same problem.
Pro tools sends auto through my HD rig perfectly but if I open iTunes or any other app that requires audio playback i get no core audio manager and the audio is only able to come to the display speakers. I have pushed and pulled every knob, switch and button and all seems lost.
If this what avid wants is going for than I'm guess my donkeys in a ditch. If I am actually having an audio issue then this is the bext place to be.
Final solution. Back To Mavericks I go
