I've noticed some annoying issues in 11 I didn't have in earlier versions. The root problem always seems to be:
Why can't Pro Tools automatically search the source folder and subfolders for media when opening a project or OMF? I get that the GUIDs change or the original disk location has changed, whatever. If it can't find the media where it thinks it should be, check the freaking folder called "Audio Files" where the session file resides.
There doesn't seem to be any consistency. Sometimes it works. Sometimes I have to relink by "Name" only. Sometimes it won't relink at all but if I close and re-open it will. Maybe these are all my mistakes but I haven't changed workflows.
Another problem is if I try to import an OMF/AAF and it can't find the media then it won't copy. I successfully relink it, highlight everything in Workspace, hit "Copy and Relink" and it gives me an error that the "target directory already exists". I don't care what exists where, I need all the media to copy and relink.
Anyone else having problems like this? Why do we still have to go to Workspace and manually copy files? Can't we have a one-click menu function to grab anything and everything not in the project's media folder? Preferably with the option of consolidating with handles?
