Finally got a new Comp. drive question pls.

Hi. I got a Mac Mini i7 2.3 quad (cause that's what everyone said to get for PT11), and I am happy I did.



It has the stock 5400rpm drive. I got it used, so will reformatting it to like new get rid of any issues that I don't know about from the previous owner?



Is anyone using the Mini with the 5400rpm drive along with an external SSD to run tracks, or is the 5400 drive just not good to have at all regardless?
