How to Download Patches

Hi... I just got an 11R, version 2.0.1 firmware with expansion pack. When I go to the patch download website and download a patch (I can see it on my computer), I don't know up to upload it to the unit. I'm connected via USB and I'm running the standalone editor. I click on Effect Presents and select Import Settings. I select the patch to upload to the unit with no luck. I'm even selecting ones that don't require the expansion pack, but it gives me the error message: These files are not valid settings files for the plug-in: (file name here). There must be something simple I'm missing... any help appreciated; thank you.
