Hi! I'm having a bit of difficulty getting my new Akai MAX25 set-up on pro tools 11. I've looked at several sources (including the book "Pro Tools 11 Ignite" and the free online resources) and feel like I'm not getting a clear picture of how to set this up.
Basically- I just want to get this thing to make and record any sounds at all (I understand the keyboard doesn't make sound, it has to communicate with a virtual instrument or whatever but- basically I want to just get something, haha). But I can't get anything!
My post title is about a "multichannel plug-in" that doesn't want to show up on my Inserts A-E buttons. I have no insert, plug-in and i/o as options, but not multichannel plug-in (which everything points me to). So- I can't follow their instructions!
Is this because I may have set up my midi keyboard incorrectly? It's confusing because the materials aren't very clear to me. Everything says I need to go into the midi studio and add a device, but- my device is showing up! And it's connected by USB and not a midi cable, so does that make a difference? Do I still have to set-up a new device? (For that matter, if someone can explain the purpose of that at all, I'd love to try and understand it, haha.) Anyway- I could use any help someone's willing to offer. Getting started with some of this stuff is a bit crazy. Thanks!
