Well the new iMac arrived on Wednesday as did the 3rd party memory. I unboxed it right away, replaced the 8Gb with 32 Gb, and fired her up.
After all of the usual set up and configurations and the optimizations for Pro Tools I was finally able to set her up on the desk today.
I as anxious to dance with her on a session that I was struggling with. I got her all connected and fired up ProTools. Surprisingly fast launch, opened the session and hit play.
Man than session sounded so much better on the Mac :D  hee hee,
OF COURSE IT DIDN'T! But Pro Tools handled it much better.
less than 19% CPU and about 20% memory. I even modified plug in settings on the fly and had no errors. LOL
I am pleased. Thanks all here for your advice.
