SO I am working along as I normally do.
Suddenly I get a bunch of "ilok" errors saying it can't communicate with USB.
I unplug and plug back in the ilok and PT says "The computer says no" and I have only 2 options.
Save or quit. It won't let me save so I am forced to quit.
PT11 quits and I restart it and the big shock comes.
Upon starting PT, it has asked me to login to PT to "authorize" my ilok, which was authorized when 11 came out.
So I type in my normal AVID logon info, fail, fail fail.
It really looks like there is some of this cloud licensing built into PT11.
Maybe I happened to be online when some test was done, but it is there, built into 11.
Is your 11 save? Maybe. But AVID certainly has the ability to knock your system off line.
As it did me. I lost about 3 minutes worth of work because of this as well.
I think these are things we can start expecting in the future.
Sorry mods. This was more than a "random" glitch. Because it went on and on for 10 minutes.
And, why would I need to log into AVID to activate an already activated license.
Losing work is not something I am AT ALL happy with. Especially in that moment of coming up with something cool.
And that isn't cool. Those minutes are golden and AVID stole it from me.
Shame on you AVID. Future not bright.
You can make it up to me by sending me an HDX1 with a 16x16. On the house
Thanks
