Thunderbolt not Being Recognized

I just bought a new iMac i7 with Thunderbolt ports as well as a new UA Apollo Twin Duo interface. But when I hook it up neither the system profiler nor the UA software recognizes the UA device. The cable is also new, and I will try replacing that to see is it's merely a defective cable. But I was wondering if anyone else has had any issues with their Thunderbolt ports.
