Complex live signal routing questions

I'm trying to figure out how best to route my 11R signal in a live situation. I've used it exclusively in the studio but recently wanted to start taking it out for gigging. I put together a rack with the 11R, a power conditioner, and stereo power amp running into a custom 2x12 cabinet. I currently have the main out on the 11R running to line input on the power amp with cab simulation turned off (obviously) but I want to be able to run a direct output to a P.A. as opposed to micing the cab.

I could run one XLR from the main out to the P.A., but then I would need cab modeling turned on, which would screw with the sound of my cab on stage.

Thus far the best thing I've figured is using a reamp DI box and using the amp output to the line level input on the power amp and selecting to turn off cab modeling, but leaving cab modeling on for the main outs. Does that sound like the best option?

One quick question also, is it fine to run the XLR outs on the 11R straight to a mixing board? Even with long cable runs? I was always taught that long cable runs should use mic level signals and not line level.

Thanks in advance!
