HUI Devices in Pro Tools -- 4 Channels instead of 8?

When I set up a HUI device in Pro Tools, the channel count is always fixed at 8.

Is there a way to force it to 4 instead?



(I am trying to develop s virtual HUI controller, and want to create a HUI device with 8 channels, plus one more with 4 -- so that track banking works for 12 channels at a time vs. 8, 16, 24 or 32)
