Midi controller questions...

Hello guys. I am still using MP 8.0.5, m-audio profire 2626, and win 7 64 bit, and I am satisfied at this time and have no desire to upgrade right now. I would like to purchase a midi controller, and I have looked at the M-Audio Axiom 49 MKII, Akai MPK49, and the Novation Impulse 49. I have been searching and it is hard to sift through all the information out there because of the age of MP 8. I really want the Akai mpk controller, but at $400.00, I'm afraid to go for it and not be able to get it up and running. I don't mind having to do a bit of work to get it going, but can anyone tell me if I am looking for trouble here, or if I should expect to be able to get it going? Any of you guys have a controller that works well with MP 8?
