Problem getting Pro Tools to use 192 kbps

This is informational as I have solved the problem but hopefully this might save someone a day of messing around going crazy.

I'm using a MOTU Ultralite MK III interface which supports sampling at 192 kbps.

When I started pro tools and tried to create a session it kept giving me the error saying that the playback device was not properly configured. The error processing is so bad that when you try to cancel prtools throws an exception error and the only way to stop the program is by killing the process in task manager. So totally no points for that one AVID.

The session it tries to create defaults to 44.1 kbps so this happens if you have anything else set.

All attempts to create sessions from templates fail presumably for the same reason.

However you can get it to create a blank session and if you specify the higher bit rate at the point where it gives you the option it will record and replay using 192kbps
