I am transitioning from Goldwave to Pro Tools (humungous difference).
A certain technique for filtering noise (or cancelling sound signatures) was to select-and-copy a certain sound (say, 2 seconds of background noise or 2 seconds of bass) and then apply a filter on the remainder of the track, which intelligently reduces that background signature from the rest of the track. It wasn't perfect by any means, but it did help remove noise and bass from under the vocals from time to time.
Does Pro Tools have this function? I Googling ways to eliminate noise, but all I run across is EQ and gates. My ears are far from being tuned to properly EQ, and gates don't filter from behind other sounds.
