Symphony and Mics

Hello There :)



I got the Symphony IO 2x6 module .....



and a shure SM58S Microphone that do not require phantom power (48V)



Can i connect it to the analog line input in my symphony ?? eventhough this input is a line input .... would it damage the IO Module ??



Moreover, if I cant .... I did connect my Eleven Rack through SPDIF to the symphony and it is working like a charm whenever I want to record a dry and wet signal .....

Can I record from the Mic Pre located at the front of my Rack eventhough it is connected through spdif and the symphony is the main audio interface?
