I'm running PT HD10 on a Mac Pro OS 10.8.5, with an Avid HDi/o interface and a Focusrite octopre going into the HDi/o via ADAT.
In lack of an easier way to describe my problem, here's what happens:
1. I've recorded a track (ch1 from now on) . No clipping, sensible input levels and the track plays back without any distortion.
2. I then set up a send (sendA from now on) to bus1-2 and create an aux (aux1 from now on) with input bus1-2 and the output goes to my master fader.
3. Aux1 now distorts like crazy - as if it had a decapitator on it, set to punish mode with the drive at 10... The sound from aux1 is definately coming from ch1, but it's heavily distorted.
4. Meters on ch1, sendA and master fader show no signs of clipping, and aux1's meter stays almost completely still at approx -5. Obviously, that's not how it's supposed to look, but I can't see how it explains the heavy distortion..
So, any ideas?
