Hi guys, I've got a producer who is being VERY picky about exactly how the audio should sound for some "on camera interview" shots. Haven't even seen the final visual treatment they're doing, but the sound versions I've done so far are not working for him.
He keeps referring to "that YouTube sound," which is obviously the person behind the camera being very present, and the person on camera being a bit rolled off, and a bit roomy. But anything I've done is apparently missing something for him. This is a character in the show interviewing other characters, animated kids stuff.
Any tricks or techniques you've used to accomplish this? I've tried straight up EQ, tried worldizing through a speaker and a 57, and currently have a super tight D-Verb followed by an extreme EQ treatment. On previous shows I've used a SansAmp or other harmonic treatment, but that's never satisfied him either.
Thanks!
