I've exported ten songs from PT 11 Native (non-HD) and placed on a CD to be sent to the mastering house. It was always my understanding that these files would not play on a standard CD player because they have not been dithered to 16 bit. However, this CD does play in a CD player. Wavelab 8 indicated they were 44.1/32 bit prior to exporting, and no dithering plug was applied during SAVE.
To be clear, I recorded my mix onto a seperate stereo track (did not use Bounce to Disk), and did not use any dithering. My project is set to 44.1/32 bit float.
I imported the files from the PT 11 Audio folder into Wavelab 8 where I applied fades and burned the CD.
Shouldn't these files not play in a CD player?
I'm away from my studio and cannot verify the files bit depth on the CD at this time.
Just curious.
