I primarily record live gigs on my XP HP laptop LE 6.9 with my 002r and ada8000. I mixed on my desktop XP dell dimension 4700 LE 6.9 and 002. Now My Dell has died so I decided on the following upgrade plan. I am selling my 002 and my HP laptop with LE 6.9. I am keeping my 002r and ada8000 gives me 16 tracks. I will install PTLE 8.0.5 on a new laptop which I will record and mix on.
Meanwhile I acquired a w7 laptop and succumbed to a new mbox 3 pro. I purchased and installed PTLE 8.0.4 planning to upgrade to 8.0.5. Now I have a
an 8.0.4 system which I can't successfully upgrade ( Won't unzip the updater) and an mbox that won't play thru my studio mixer. My attempts to resolve this lead me to believe that PTLE 8.0.4 is incompatible with the mbox. Upgrading to a downlevel version of PT is apparently a bad idea. So any ideas on what I should do?
