NEWBIE NEEDS help.... grrrr

Hi,

I have been using PT10 for about 6 months and with the help of the forum and You Tube been pretty at getting thru learning PT10.

Today, I stumbled on an issue I haven't experienced yet and it's been driving me crazy for about 5 hours. You Tube and forum hasn't led me to an answer.

First... here's what I have equipment wise.

iMac 27 with i7 and 12gigs ram

PT10

Digidesign Mbox2 PRO Firewire

PROBLEM:

I have made my own "backing tracks" for a song. I used 8 tracks in doing so.

5 of the 8 tracks are MIDI tracks that I downloaded from the net and assigned instrument sounds to

1 is a PT10 click track

2 tracks are recorded tracks of my guitar playing

PROBLEM:

I can't shorten/trim the tracks??

I originally made the song too long so I wanted to cut 2 bars off the end.

When I bounce all the tracks to MP3, it plays for 13 seconds longer then I want.

I have tried the following:

I "muted" the parts of the tracks I don't want to hear.. mp3 plays the blank silence still

I "split" the tracks and muted the unwanted parts... still records the blank area

I tried using the TIME OPERATIONS.... remove time feature .. it still records the blank space at the end

TRIM TOOL... doesn't work on the tracks

WEIRD FACT.... When I use the "trim" tool, every track the icon looks like this " ] " ... when i move the cursor to the click track, it changes to look like the "smart" tool icon.... upside down letter instead of the ]. So obviously, I can't "trim" the click track.........SO.......

I decided to try something... I opened a new track and recorded the click track to make it trim able..... I then deleted the original click track to see if that was the problem .... nope.. same thing... that blank space at the end of all the tracks is there.... grrrrrr

So.. any help is appreciated.

Basically... how in the heck do I trim the end of this song down/ all these tracks
