Hello All,
I am an experienced musician but a serious novice when it comes to the engineering aspect. I am having issues when I try to quantize midi tracks that I have recorded. My issue is when I select the region to quantize, after applying the option, the velocity/volume goes way down and the duration of the notes get chopped down to a very staccato-ish type sound which happens for the entire highlighted selection ...thus affecting the sound of the patch that I am using. I have Boom, Structure Free, and Expand that came with Express.... This is what I am doing: I highlight my area, click on event operations, quantize, get the drop down menu with all available options, "Note On" and "Preserve Note Duration" are checked, the quantize grid is either 8th or 16th, whichever I'm using and the other remaining options are left blank. I hit enter and when I play it back it quantizes the midi but like i said, drops the volume and cuts the duration. I can not figure out what I am doing wrong. This issue happens anytime I want to quantize. Please advise!!!
sincerely
