PT 11 not working well

Hi,



I run a 2.7GHz i5 (12GB) imac with PT 11, but I am having huge issues with CPU drain.



I am getting drop outs, distortion and lag.



Everything else run well on my machine except with PT 11 and Xpand2.



I’m running mavericks with lastest update……..



Any advice
