Consolidate Clip Freeze

Hello PT peeps!



I'm a new user to PT, and am having an issue:



When I'm in a specific track and want to consolidate two or more audio clips, I get a message saying "Rendering" and the rainbow wheel spins, with a progress bar that never moves. The total time for all clips is only about 30 seconds. If it matters, I set my session up in AIFF, 24 Bit, 192 kHz.



After waiting an eternity, when I click "cancel", nothing happens, and the program freezes up. (but WAIT... there's more)



I go into mac's Force Quit Applications to quit PT. I notice PT is listed as "not responding"). I force PT to quit.



When I open up PT again, and immediately quit, I get the message "There are some incomplete tasks. Quit anyway?" I click "no" to see what tasks PT is talking about, and it takes me to "Task Manager", where I see a task labeled "Calculating Waveform Overview" and a progress bar that never moves. I have to right-click to cancel the task and then I'm back to where I started with the original problem (or I can exit PT).



Any takers on how to resolve this?
