CPU power

Can anybody tell me why I keep getting the "Running out of CPU" message when I only have ONE plugin inserted!! It is telling me to remove some plugins. This is a new computer with 8 processors. I used to get the same message with my previous computer and it wasn't even a quarter of the machine that I am working with now.
