Thanks to all for reading and being a helpful, engaged human being. I installed a Pro Tools 11 demo to do some light mixing at home after engineering a free lance session, not having access to my normal studio for the project. Things were working ok (I mean, not great on my [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep]ty laptop but passable which is all I needed) until I updated Windows 8 last week. Now there is that standard mysterious error message as soon as I try to start (Pro Tools Application has stopped working. A problem cause the program to stop working....thanks, Windows). I guess I'm wondering if I can attempt an uninstall and reinstall of Pro Tools with a demo version, which would be my first thought, or if anyone else has encountered this problem and has any insight.
Like I said my laptop is pretty substandard, there were some restarts required to make things work before, and stuttering after that, but I don't think that's the issue here, seems like a basic update compatibility thing. Thanks so much for any help! My trial runs out on 8/30 and I need to get 15 songs mixed by then!
