I'm using Pro Tools 11.2.0 on a fresh copy of Windows 7 SP1 with a 3rd generation MBox Pro running driver package 1.1.10 and firmware 1.0.4.
I've seen similar threads about no audio, but they never seem to get solved. First off, I'm NOT having a problem operating the Pro Tools software. I strongly feel that I have found a bug in the MBox Driver/Firmware. Most of the time when I start Pro Tools my sessions work flawlessly. However, every now and then I will start Pro Tools and fail to get any audio. Windows can play sounds fine when this happens. Pro Tools goes through all of the motions, and I can see plenty of activity in the meters, but no audio makes it to the sound device; i.e. the meters in the MBox Pro control panel do nothing. Additionally, there are never any errors from Pro Tools, just no audio.
I've found a workaround, which may or may not help Avid determine where the problem lies, but I'm growing very tired of having to do it. If I close my current session, then go to "Setup/Playback Engine..." and pick a different device, then switch it back right away to the MBox Pro, I can then load a session and get perfect audio.
I sincerely hope that a fix to this problem will become available soon.
