My Mbox pro only records with phantom power on. When I turn off phantom power I get no mic signal at all. Am I doing something wrong or do I have a faulty Mbox Pro unit?
I'm using a Shure SM7B mic going through a Cloud signal booster directly into Mbox Pro. I've also tried other dynamic mics (Shure SM7B and EV R20) going directly into Mbox Pro but I only get a signal if I turn on the phantom power.
Should I be using a preamp with dynamic mic? I've tried everything I can think of … Any thoughts?
