Hi, I have been dealing with this problem for quite awhile and nobody has been able to help me so I thought I would try these forums out.
I experience CPU overload very frequently, I am working on a session with 3 tracks and no plugins that I need finished by tonight. I cannot listen back to a track for more than 5 seconds without a CPU overload occurring.
My playback engine however will not let me adjust parameters for CPU management or anything like that. All I can do is select my audio interface and adjust the hardware buffer size. I have worked on other systems before that have all had way more options and I don't know why I can't on my system.
I have an Early 2013 Macbook Pro Retina with intel core i7, 8gb of RAM, and I am running Mavericks. I am running Pro Tools 11.2. My main audio interface is a Line 6 POD X3 live (I want to buy an MBox, but cannot find a way to buy a standalone one.) For this session, I am just using the Pro Tools aggregate I/O because I am only clipping apart a 40 min audio file into separate chunks and my laptop speakers work fine for that.
Can anybody help me? I have tried 3 fresh installs of pro tools and it has not resolved the problem. I can post a screenshot of my playback engine if needed.
