I had an Avid Audio Support employee look at my vari-fi problem on PT 11 the other day (which could finally be confirmed as a bug, yehaw!)
This was done with AVIDs own remote desktop solution "LogMeInRescue".
During the session Pro Tools became unresponsive several times due to the ethernet activity.
I was using wi-fi at this time but this concerns ethernet activity in general.
I think the amount of lag introduced in PT when ethernet activity is going on is totally disproportionate and just gives away that Pro Tools doesn't claim enough delicate control of the system resources which is needed to remain stable at all times.
I know stability is top priority at AVID and that a connected computer by many is considered unprofessional, it's even recommended by AVID that wi-fi is to be turned off! We're a professional company that actually use ethernet and Pro Tools ALL THE TIME so we'd be happy to see this improved.
