Artist Control nudge clip up/down crashes unit

This crashing only happens if I attempt to use this nudge clip gain up/down softkey on my MacPro rig (OSX MTL...sound editing rig) and PT11HD...however it operates fine (no crash) if I switch the Control over to my PC win7 rig (which is an awesome option and works very well BTW) when I want to work on PT music creation sessions on that rig. Has anyone else experienced this behavior? I went so far as to re-program the softkeys with fresh commands but the condition persists on the Mac.
