Hey Guys,
I'm looking into investing in ProTools 11 (not HD), a new Mac Laptop (Pro or Air), and an external hard drive (500GB-1TB anywhere from $69-$100). I mainly just do small mixing projects and plan to mostly be using it work on previous sessions recorded at my schools recording studio for submission into grad school may hold about 15-20 sessions (a few full band sessions and a couple smaller projects).
I've been scrambling like crazy to match computer specs with what the website says is compatible and all the other first time buyer stress. After the countless hours of research spent I am still somewhat confused and I dont want to waste any unnecessary cash. Are any of the new Mac Pros or Airs ProTools 11 approved? The website stops at the Late 2013 versions and say nothing of the Newer ones. Would I have to specifically get an older version?
If you have any insight on the best Mac Laptop to get and external hard drive that is somewhat cost saving please let me know. It would be very much appreciated.
Im thinking of getting a the HGST 1TB Touro S Ultra-Portable External Hard Drive, will this hold Pro Tools sessions?
Those are really my only two questions, I know I dont need an interface to mix my sessions, so I think I'll be good on that end. Just mainly concerned on a compatible external drive and a laptop.
Thanks Pro Tools World
