OK so I've been using PT 10.3.7 for a while now with no problems and everything has been relatively smooth. But all of a sudden, with no changes to any plugins or hardware, PT will stutter and either seize up or give error messages (either "you are running out of CPU power, try eliminating some native plugins" or "You are running out of CPU power. Elastic Audio could not keep up. Please switch Elastic Audio tracks to render mode, disable Elastic Audio processing, or remove some RTAS plugins.")
Normally I would suspect the CPU (obviously), but these projects were running perfectly fine two weeks ago. Same plugins, same number of tracks, same settings, same everything. I simply hadn't used PT in a couple weeks and when I fired it back up they were all of a sudden acting like Johnny 5 after falling in a pool. I haven't altered my machine either.
Today I took some measures in hopes of clearing it up (updated to PT 10.3.9, cleaned out some old plugins I never use, etc...) and still nothing. Exact same problem.
Another odd thing that is part of this is that audio played through the RealTek audio device (which handles everything except PT audio) stutters and farts too if PT is on. So the problem is cross pollenating between audio devices. Again, this might be something you would "A-HA!" about, but it was never a problem before. I could have PT up and jump to a browser and play a Youtube video or play something on iTunes or WMP with no stuttering.
Here is a video exhibiting the problem so you can hear what's going on (with bonus fart sound at the end to express my frustration). If I have the vocal tracks active then it glitches. If I make all the vocal tracks inactive then the problem goes away. Yeah I have a lot of goofy plugins on the vocal tracks, but they never gave me any trouble before. That's the big thing here: it started happening after making no changes.

I'm using a Mackie Onyx Blackbird 10x10 for my PT I/O and have my software and plugins running from C drive SSD and the project and audio files on M drive HDD in RAID 1. Always been that way with no problems.
