Hi folks,
I am upgrading the studio and was checking out a few different monitors.
I was thinking of going for 2 x 24" monitors but I discovered these 29" IPS monitors that allow 4 screen split. They will allow you to split your screen into two different viewing areas. So I'm thinking 'edit' and 'mix'. You can split into 3 panes too and others which could be good with plugins.
LG make one here is the link
http://ift.tt/101ueGR
One of the features is that they are Mac Compatible.
They state the following too:
4-Screen Split software requires Windows XP/Vista/7/8/ or Mac OS® Lion/Mountain Lion and DVI-D or HDMI connection with PC or DVI-D or DisplayPort connection with Mac®. May not be compatible with some applications.
I am using a 15" retina mac pro spec'd to the limit. I think I would need the thunderbolt to Mini display adapter to run this. Though I have read that seeing as they the same physical connection thunderbolt is backwards compatible with mini display port, on a different site I read 'NO you need the adapter'.
There is no mention of Mavericks but does work with mountain lion. It also states this 'screen' splitting may not work with certain applications.
Are any of you using this configuration and if so, what are your findings......does it work?
Thanks in advance,
Gene
