EWQL/ Hollywood Strings overkill for me?

So I've been pricing out symphony sample libraries and EWQL seem to have the best deal. Can get the student discount on top of their already bundled discount. Only concern is on soundonsound theyre saying EWQL's demographic are people needing big, full orchestras so the libraries dont contain any solos?

Ill be using the strings for the opposite of what their demographic is. Of course ill be orchestrating and layering lots of strings as well. But I also want to have solos. My music isnt always going to be one big orchestra, I just want hints of symphony mixed with electronic music aspects.

My main use for the library will simply be making music, I just want realistic strings and horns. I usually do have lots of instruments playing solo, so what exactly do they mean by there are no options to play solo? Does that mean even if I am playing a single note it will trigger multiple different instruments?

Is this going to be a problem? When they say hollywood strings/brass comes with no solo instruments what exactly does that mean? Even if I wanted to I couldnt have just a single cello or something playing? My only option is to have a full section or what?

I understand they have products named 'solo violins' and stuff like that.

But right now im just trying to get a better idea of what hollywood strings actually is.

Bottom line is I just want realistic strings/horns/winds so I can use them in my music. And I will be having Solos. Are these products overkill for me?
