I've been working in PT10 for about six months with a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8, no problems. I am running it on my laptop (Win 7, Core i5) and use ASIO4ALL for listening without being connected to the Focusrite. About a month ago, PT stopped recognizing the 18i8. I updated the drivers, no dice. Uninstalled ASIO4ALL, no help. Finally, I reinstalled PT and got it to recognize the 18i8, but now as soon as I load a session, even before creating a new track, PT is outputting a near-unity hum/click noise. It doesn't go away when playing an existing session, either. I haven't been able to check to see if the noise is there on input as well.
At first, I thought it was the 18i8 (my toddler knocked the 18i8 over in the middle of all this), but system sounds are going through the 18i8 no problem. To further check, I installed a demo of Adobe Audition 3, and it works perfectly with the 18i8.
I reinstalled PT again and trashed the preferences several times, but I still can't find any luck. Tried every USB port on my machine, and they're all exactly the same.
Any ideas on settings I should check?
