ProTools11 Vanilla Disabilities

Hi

I am fairly new to ProTools 11 and am finding recording with it bafflingly difficult:

Software monitoring. I record through a UAD Apollo Duo using its in-line fx so I don't want to hear anything on the ProTools track in record mode. But I can't disable it on the track (this is, scandalously, restricted to the HD version). Instead, I have to deploy the low-latency monitoring mode - which is all well and good, except it only works on the main output. So each time I want to record my vocal, i have to re-route its output from my vox-sub mix aux, to the main output. Then when I want to audition the recording in context, I have to re-route it again back to the vox-sub mix. If it's not good enough and needs re-doing I have to reproduce the entire procedure again and again ad-nauseum. But GET THIS - there's some kind of a bug where the output WON'T change unless you set it to 'no-ouput' and then re-route it.

It's like the referee tying weights to the legs of soccer players to deliberately slow them down. It's absolutely bizarre and like wading through sludge. Please can this be fixed. At the moment I am seriously considering recording my vocals in Studio One and then importing them back into the mix... Avid Cloud is a sideshow compared to glaring faults in core usability and functionality like this, surely?
