Level Issue

Never had this issue before. I recorded a stereo guitar track - panned 9 and 3 respectively and the signal never gets out of the yellow. When I solo it and play that track back, the Master volume displays a hotter signal than does the original guitar track. There is no insert or bus on it and it was recorded through my eleven rack, same as I have done a thousand time before. Any ideas why it would do this - ? Thx!
