mbox2 mini and mac air

Hi,

i have an 'old' mbox2 mini (blue face) and have recently purchased a mac air. how do i get the mac air to work with the mbox2 mini? Do i need to download a driver of some sort? I have attached the mbox to the mac air via USB but I am not getting the light on the mbox! I am not interested in protools by the way. I just use garage band!!

i'm sure there is a simple answer....
