My name is Chris and I'm having a relatively brutal time trying to get a Yamaha P-120 keyboard to function as a controller with my somewhat older Pro Tools HD system. I seem to have issues getting it to emulate an HUI controller as I am getting error messages when setting it up in Peripherals as HUI. I am routing the keyboard in and out of a MIDI i/o and the MIDI i/o is connected to the MIDI ins and outs of a PRE. So far when testing the keyboard in the MIDI Studio window I can tell that the connections are working correctly to some degree because I can play the virtual piano in the program and it will send a signal back through the speakers of the keyboard. The problem however is getting the keyboard to record as a MIDI or Instrument track. I've as well read the manual to the keyboard and as far as I can tell have set it up properly so to send MIDI data. Please, if anyone has experience with this keyboard or had a similar situation help your boy out!
