Im trying to record a pretty complex snare line into my drum beat..in other words I cant do it with the pencil tool, I have to play it in.
First though, I have battery hosting a single midi clip on a stereo inst track and I'm sending each cell(drum element) out to its own host instrument track via battery stereo outputs going to mono instrument tracks.
So- 1 Stereo Battery track being split out to a bunch of mono instrument hosts (if that matters for the purpose of midi merge)
Midi merge is just greyed out and I cant click it. I want to record this snare line over top of what I already have but Im not seeing a way how without making a new midi/battery track.
I had the same problem for my percussion but it was an easier phrase so I just recorded it without the other drums than copy pasted the midi into the battery track. But for this snare line I need the other drums playing to get it right.
Why is midi merge greyed out on my Battery track?
