I've been running ProTools Express v10.3.4 for a bit more than a year with no problems. I run Win7 and keep up to date on updates. I primarily do audio books, so my recordings are anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes long, with logs of breaks (many clips) due to reading mistakes.
In the last week or so, after several takes and a few clips in, when I would start a new clip added on to already recorded stuff, I would get a dialog box saying "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. (32)"
I save and exit ProTools and start it up again from the ptx file, which brings me back to where I was before the error occurred. During the restart, I get a dialog box that says: "Some outputs or sends were made inactive. Please visit the I/O setup dialog for more information." (There's no info there - I've looked.)
I can then record several more clips with PT taking up where I left off before the same error occurs again.
Can anyone help me with this? Is there some setting I'm missing?
Thanks.
Steve
